How much does dog walking cost in Las Vegas?
Last updated
Search “dog walker prices” and you'll find national averages that say little about the Las Vegas Valley. So we did the math on our own listings instead. Every figure on this page comes from a starting price that a local business publishes, and it updates on its own as listings change. Right now 18 of the 29 dog walkers in our directory publish one.
From our directory: dog walking
| What the starting price covers | Businesses | Range | Median |
|---|---|---|---|
| One walk or visit (any length listed) | 17 | $15–$38 | $25 |
| 30-minute walk or visit | 6 | $18–$38 | $27.50 |
Walkers here describe their basic visit in different ways: a 15-minute potty break, a half-hour stroll, an hour on the trail. The first row lumps all of them together. The second row is the fairer comparison, because it only includes walkers whose starting price is for 30 minutes. Day rates and half-day rates are left out, because those are closer to daycare than to a walk.
From our directory: drop-in pet sitting
| What the starting price covers | Businesses | Range | Median |
|---|---|---|---|
| One drop-in visit or walk (any length listed) | 5 | $10–$32 | $30 |
| 30-minute drop-in visit | 3 | $30–$32 | too few prices |
6 of our 10 pet sitters publish a starting price. These rows cover a single drop-in, the kind of visit where someone comes by to feed, let the dog out and refill the water bowl. Overnight stays and per-day care work differently and aren't counted here. For multi-night trips, compare sitters with pet boarding too.
From our directory: yard cleanup
| What the starting price covers | Businesses | Range | Median |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly plan (weekly service) | 4 | $35–$99 | too few prices |
| Per visit | 4 | $8–$22.99 | too few prices |
Plenty of Las Vegas backyards are rock, gravel or artificial turf rather than grass, and they still need regular cleanup, which is where pooper scooper services come in. 8 of the 14 we list publish a starting price. Some sell a monthly plan and others charge per visit, so we keep those apart rather than blend them. Most of the published prices assume one dog and a weekly pickup. Each group is small, so read these as a ballpark.
From our directory: grooming
| What the starting price covers | Businesses | Range | Median |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bath package, small dog | 7 | $30–$50 | $45 |
9 of the 21 dog groomers we list publish a starting price. The price they publish most often is a bath package for a small dog. Haircuts get priced once the groomer has seen the dog's size, coat and condition, so very few appear online.
How we count
One business, one number: the “from” price on its listing, which we take from the business's own website or booking page. We sort those numbers by what they buy, then report the lowest and highest (the range) and the middle value (the median). The median is hidden until at least 5 businesses publish a comparable price, so one or two outliers can't drag it around. These are starting points, not quotes. We never estimate or fill in a price a business hasn't published.
What pushes a Las Vegas quote up or down
- Summer timing. From late spring into fall, the safe walking windows here are early morning and after dark. Those slots fill fast, so ask what a 6 a.m. or 9 p.m. walk costs before you assume it's the standard rate.
- Shift-work hours. This is a 24-hour town. If you work swing or graveyard shifts on the Strip or downtown, you may need a walk at 2 p.m. one week and 3 a.m. the next. Some providers charge more for off-hours visits and some simply don't offer them.
- High-rise and gated access. Checking in at a front desk, waiting for an elevator or getting through a guard gate all add time to a visit. Ask whether the price changes for your building or community.
- Length and number of dogs. Longer visits and extra dogs nearly always cost more, so compare like with like.
- Distance. The valley is spread out. A walker based in Henderson may charge extra to come to Centennial Hills, or may not go that far at all.
- Packages. Weekly bundles usually beat paying visit by visit.

Before you book
Get two or three quotes from businesses that cover your ZIP code. You can search by ZIP on the home page. Ask for the total in writing, including holiday rates and the cancellation policy. Price is only part of the decision, and our checklist for choosing a walker or sitter covers the rest. If a listing's price looks wrong, use “Report a problem” on that listing and we'll recheck it.
